SUNDAY: Sketch the Grotto

Sunday, August 27, 2017

There is a hidden grotto in Central Park

With admiration we are copying the Weekday NYC USk group who sketched an incredible piece of Central Park a few weeks ago.

Our destination is a series of connecting waterways that traverses the north end of Central Park. This lesser known area of the park, known as The Ravine, consists of The Pool, The Glen Span Arch and the Loch going through the Huddleston Arch (made from huge stones without any mortar) and eventually leads into the Harlem Meer.

The Park itself is a work of art and this portion includes a wild but artistically perfect view of nature with a bit of the urban skyline thrown in.
