... well, almost.
New York's High School of Art and Design is holding their Draw-A-Thon fundraiser this coming Saturday November 16th. It's not exactly Urban Sketching but is a great way to sharpen the skills we need. We also love the High School. Many of our sketchers are graduates and the school provides the location for our annual Portrait Party. It's a great event that we can help make even more successful.
The Draw-A-Thon attracts artists and art fans from all over the city, including professional artists, illustrators and rank amateurs, all happily sketching together. It's nine straight hours of sketching, with loads of models offering fast poses and slow, as well as interesting costumes and classically naked poses.
Best news, you can save $5.00 by purchasing your ticket in advance (see link below). The event runs from 10 AM to 7 PM. Come when you want, stay as late as you like. Pizza is served at the end as they draw tickets for door prizes.
The High School of Art and Design is located at 245 East 56th Street, between 2nd & 3rd Avenues)
Hope to see you there:
