Central Park Sketch Crawl - October 19, 2013

The View of Belvedere Castle, home to NYC Weather Observatory

Jeff with his large format sketches spread out on the grass

After we had lunch together we went back to Central Park West and sat on benches sketching one of the iconic Beaux Arts apartment buildings that overlook the park.

  1. These are really good. I like how you did the apt building with squiggles that are perfect for the details. You did a great job of simplifying a really complex building. For some reason I didn't get to see as many sketches that people did this time. We put the sketchbooks out on the lawn but I only saw the first pages that were showing. I'm glad so many people actually posted so I could see what they did.

  2. You really put some great color on these sketches, Mark. The lines are wonderfully loose and minimal with all the detail in the watercolor washes.

  3. Mark, just so you know, if you scroll down past Ben's Astoria sketches, Mia and I had already posted our work from the sketch crawl. I think you missed seeing them if you thought he posted first. lol
