Today we met at Astoria Park in Queens. There were 9 of us sketching today. Our first sketching location was along the side of the RFK Bridge right outside the entrance to Astoria Park.

Susan, Ben, Mark, and I had a good view of the bridge from below.

Here is my first sketch.

And my sketch of Mark at his easel.

We moved further into the park. We had a good view of the RFK Bridge.

I sketched a similar view.

The view of the Hell's Gate Bridge was really good too.

Of course a sketching day must include lunch. We went to Agnani, a great Greek restaurant
at 19-06 Ditmars Blvd. They treated us really well and the food was delicious.
After lunch a few of us went back to the park to sketch.
I liked these trees along the river side of the park with all the people walking and jogging.

It turned out to be a great day!

  1. Joan, you certainly were productive! All your sketches looked great. It was a great sketching location, although I wouldn't put this park on a tourist destination... and lunch and company were terrific.
