Sketching Governors Island, NYC

The last days of May are the best time of year for me.  The rains of April are gone, the air is crisp and its not too hot, so when the NY Urban Sketchers announced a sketch event at Governors Island at the southern tip of Manhattan, I jumped on my bike and headed downtown.

I couldnt stop sketching, so when everyone caught the ferry back to Manhattan, I stayed for one more sketch:

So Sketchers, enjoy your summer and I hope to see you all soon!  And you can follow me on Instagram at @jlevinemd.

PS thanks Mark for organizing the group!

  1. Jeff, great sketches...love that last one that captures the delightful idea of a treat at the end of a warm, sunny day.

  2. Once again, I'm in agreement with Joan. The last picture of the day is also my favorite. The incline of the head on the man selling the ices is just perfect. Nice set of sketches from a really nice day of sketching
