SATURDAY: Sketch the Garden

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Some of the Cherry Blossoms are in bloom, other's are poised and nearly ready.

The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens is one of my favorite spots in the city.  Sketching last week proved that having a backup plan is always a good idea.  The backup plan for the Botanic Gardens is, of course, the Brooklyn Museum.  At this point the weather looks promising for our weekend sketch.

DETAILS

What:   We’ll be sketching in the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens

Where:   We’ll meet at the entrance at 150 Eastern Parkway, near the subway.  (Note: there is another entrance at 990 Washington Avenue near the parking lot.)

When:  Start time - 10 AM - this Saturday, April 20, 2024.   Running late?  Messed up by the subways?  Come anyway - we'll be there.  Note:  We will be walking from the Eastern Parkway entrance and will pass by the Japanese Garden, which is near the Parking Lot entrance.)

How:

-   By Subway:  Take the #1 or #3 train Eastern Pkwy - Brooklyn Museum

Lunch:  We'll break at 12:00 PM Noon  Bring your own food and drink or buy food in the Garden.  It's a long walk to find food outside the Garden.

Afternoon:  1:00 PM Back to sketching

Show and Tell:  3:00 PM - We will meet at a location to be decided near the Administration Building (see map).

NOTE:

-      Bring a stool if you have one, it gives you more options.

-  Be respectful of what the guards say about using your stool.   Some grassy places are acceptable and others not, depending on the conditions. We want to help the garden to be as beautiful as possible.
