Weekday Sketch Celebrates Bastille Day!

On Monday July 14th
….let's go storm the fortress
(or at least draw one)

NYC Bastille Day Sketching

In honor of Bastille Day the Urban Sketchers weekday group will meet at Castle Clinton in Battery Park.   We can sketch the fortress, the park and the waterfront.  A chance to draw France's gift to the US - the Statue of Liberty.

From there we can take the ferry to Governor's Island and sketch the two fortresses over there.  (sorry that there is a small charge for the ferry on weekdays: $2 regular or $1 for seniors).  We will go rain or shine as the fort has a deep overhang and we can sketch under the eaves should it rain.   Bring lunch or buy something from the carts or cafe's so that we don't interrupt the flow of the day.

  • Date: MONDAY July 14, 2014
  • Place: The entrance to  Castle Clinton, Battery Park
  • Time:  11:00 AM
