Weekday Urban Sketchers Hit Wall Street

In order to take advantage of the remaining few weeks of the  free outdoor figure drawing class offered by the Battery Park Conservancy, we will keep the Urban Sketchers meet up in lower Manhattan.

The intersection of Wall and Bond Streets is the epicenter for the financial markets.  Federal Hall, which was once the treasury, and the Stock Exchange dominate the corner.  The facades of the building, the statue of George Washington atop the stairs leading to Federal Hall and Trinity Church will provide plenty of urban scenery as a back drop for the hoards of tourists, financiers and office workers taking selfies, having lunch on the staircase and rushing through the crowds as we draw the chaotic intersection.

DATE:  Wednesday October 14, 2015

TIME:  10:30 AM

MEETING SPOT: In front of Federal Hall by the Statue of George Washington.  After we sketch for a while we can have lunch on the stairs and then walk over to Battery Park City for the afternoon drawing session.  (Anyone not interested in the figure drawing can draw the scenes along the river near the figure drawing area)

TRANSPORTATION: 4, 5 to Wall Street; 2,3 to Wall Street
